Bring the water and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add the oats and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, add any dried ingredients you want to rehydrate in the oats, cover, and let rest for 5 minutes. Top and serve as desired.
